Another Futuristic City by SmashR Another Futuristic City by SmashR
Another futuristic city I sketched, didn't turn out so well, specially for the background and the marker rendering that I wanted to try out.

I really don't have a clue on how to use this, neither on how to apply shadings :(.

Any tips and comments welcome !

I like the perspective and the posterized shading effect you get from the materials.

Thanks. The posterized effect is due to the fact that I use regular printer paper with alcohol markers, normally I should use marker paper that doesn't drink as much ink as printer paper.

It doesn't look like marker. it looks like an ink wash.

That's because I used regular printer paper instead of marker paper. Printer paper "drinks" a lot the ink, not like marker paper that would have kept it together (sorry, i'm not english so I don't really see how to explain that).

I like that effect but sometimes it's annoying for details lol :)

That does explain it quite well. Your English is fine.

I know they're broadcasting the repeats on Comedy Central, weeknights at 9.
Not exactly sure when the new eps begin.

I love the perspectives in your drawings. I really think the shading helps bring out a beautiful abstract quality to it, but judging on what I read that isn't what you were going for.

Still. I like it a lot.

It looks very good to me! =D The only advice I have for markers is to start with the light and work up to the darks, but it looks like you did that. I love the perspective! =D
